Why does my free space not increase after deleting programs?
My computer is old and running really slow. I transferred a 2000 song I-Tune library to a different computer, erased three or four computer games, deleted photos and my free space is still 59% (which seems like a lot to me but evidently not). How could I not gain any free space after doing all of this? I defrag all the time and it makes no difference.

having more space in your hard drive does not make it run faster if that’s what your trying to do. If your PC is old perhaps the CPU fan is dusty, this common issue causes PC performance to decrease dramatically (even in newer PC’s!)
If you are simply deleting files and no effect is taking place, I would recommend checking that the recycle bin has been emptied.
Empty your Recycle Bin. This will release the space previously occupied by the erased files so it may now be available for use by other files.
I also hope that you erased your computer games using the Add/Remove Programs procedure or the Uninstall Shortcut created by the program. Otherwise the links in the registry will be left unnecessarily.
Download and install the free Revo Uninstaller from http://www.revouninstaller.com/
Revo Uninstaller analyzes an application’s data before uninstall and scans after you uninstall an application. After the program’s regular uninstaller runs, you can remove additional unnecessary files, folders and registry keys that are usually left over on your computer. Even if you have a broken installation, Revo Uninstaller scans for an application’s data on your hard disk drives and in the Windows registry and shows all found files, folders and registry keys so you can delete them.
Did you use the add/remove program feature in the control panel? If not then check the recycle bin and empty it.
Try to defrag it
