I don’t think you will find such a forum or articles: any e-commerce is always different from the others. The building of a real estate is totally different than for a DVD download or a print shop!
There are many e-commerce scripts available for free but, as they try to be "universal", they all contain 75% of totally useless code for your own needs, are huge in terms of code, and require very good experience and coding knowledge to be adapted to your requirements.
(And, if you have that kind of expertise, you will know that you will be much better off writing the code yourself!)
If you do NOT have that expertise, building an e-commerce is NOT for the feint hearted…
You have more chance to contact a proper coder and get the site built for you. (On average, expect 1500 to 4000$. I make basics for 1500€).
