I want to set-up a E-Commerce shop online but I have no knowledge of web design programming. My plan is to sell jewellery online for my business as this would be a lot more cost effective for me in the long run and also I can work from home.

I’m looking for the following from my Hosting company:

1) Setup my shop for me.
2) Provide great customer service.
3) Setup a merchant account for me.
4) Great value for money.

I’ve been studying web design for four years now, and I want to create a portfolio. Before I do, I want to expand my knowledge. However, I was wondering how I would go about creating a e-commerce site for someone? Do I need to buy software or is there coding involved or both? I use Dreamweaver, so how would that work together?
The entire point of CREATING is using code. I don’t want a site builder. I want something that just does the e-commerce part of it.

Now I am interested in the field of E-commerce or E-business so I decided to take CIW master designer. Then I knew that CIW Associate is equivalent to i-Net so I appreciate anyone tell m which is better to be taken and why?

If there are any others advices, suggestion or certifications that are recommended to me I appreciate to be told with them.

Note that I don t have any background in programming and web design as I start to begin my career in this field.

I am US origin, My company is planning to rebuff its online portal. So i am looking to outsource web design to India. Can you reference me SEO firms in India.

I was going to clone my existing HD and put it on a larger one. But…..can I hook the new one up as a slave and have it take care of the space issue with loading programs? I do alot of web design and video work. Seems I am slowing way down with more and more glitches.

I am as much of a novice as anyone can be when it comes to web-design. I just purchased dreamweaver because everyone seems to love it but I want a program that is more user friendly and that has a simple interface that isn’t so cluttered. Whats out there?

I’m a senior computer science major and would like to get into web design. I have basic familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C++, COBOL, etc., and am pretty adept at HTML and CSS.

I wanted to find out what I should focus on learning if I intend to persue a carreer in web design in the next year or two.

What programs, languages, and concepts make up the primary areas of focus these days in web design? What are the most important aspects to understand?

My understanding is that these are very important:
Flash
Dreamweaver/Frontpage
ColdFusion or .NET (database connectivity)
Graphic Design Techniques
HTML, XML, PHP

I wondered how those of you that are actually working in the field would change my list?

Is there a particular order of concepts that would help me learn it best (a curriculum, if you will)?

I’d appreciate all the help I can get in understanding what direction to go in. There’s so much to learn, and I really don’t know where to start.

Including dreamweaver – And I also have all of the
Coffee Cup visual designer programs -

Now….. How will I publish my web design on the internet?

also what programs are commonly used for web design. If the programs are from Microsoft, would there be any problem using them on a mac?

I want to go to school for web design but that will most likely be months away. I don’t know much about web design or quite frankly anything but I’m very eager to learn about designing websites. I have no idea where to start. What should I start with? Any good books you can reccommend? Or tutorials? Anything you can help with would be great thanks
