Need to set up home based business and sell online. Need to learn designing webpage, where to host it, how to accept payment, how to generate traffic …….

What is the fastest way to generate large volumes of traffic (2000+) hits per day to a new website. It’s got a .com domain, and I can’t seem to get any hits, aside from those that I buy (arbitrage). I’ve search engine optimized the site as much as possible, and I’ve submitted it to all the major search engines. What else can I do? Tips, tricks?

Most people think Java is too slow to be used for a public Web site with high volume triffic. So I wonder what to use: PHP, Perl, Python, or Java? Is Java only for enterprise internal use (traffic is small)?

I understand how to follow TCP stream, but why am i only seeing my traffic and not other computers on the network’s http traffic?

I an very new to the Joomla! Game. After much research, I have discovered that Joomla! just may be the best option for what I want to accomplish as for my site.

However, there was one thing that was missing…maybe, Direct Marketing Capability.

I am looking for an extension that would allow for upsells as well as affiliate/ppc tracking. I want to be able to pay those who are driving traffic & Sales to my site (once it’s up) for assisting me.

I also want to be able to upsell someone to the next product after they have bought one.

Is there a component out there that will do it.

I greatly appreciate all the help.

CNN, Microsoft, Ebay, and Yahoo all experienced DDoS attacks, but Yahoo is the only one that still allows ICMP traffic. I was curious as to why.

I have an idea that I think is going to work. It is free like youtube and it can generate alot of traffic without selling any thing. But I do not know how to go about getting it started. Have you guys any idea how to do it? From an idea to a up and running internet business. After all, everything started out as an idea. Right? for examble- ebay, youtube, google, etc? All suggestions are welcome and highly appreciated.

I’m a new web designer and I just published a website about my services. How can I get traffic and find new clients? I thought about things like Craigslist and placing posters on bulletin boards. I target mostly individuals and smaller businesses since my websites are dynamic HTML.

What are some good ways to get people to notice me?
