I’m interested in learning about programming (spreadsheet, database, web) to help me with an e-commerce idea I have. I have never done any programming before. What programming launguages would you recommend I start with if I want to do search queries against various databases with different information?

Also I would need to be able to do calculations in the programming to be able to do search against various databases. Untimately the end-user would go on my website, type in certain information and it would produce a ranking of results based on the information they input.

I know RSS feeds are used for blogging, and newsletters to receive updated dynamic information. Pertaining to E-commerce, a site that allows an electronic transaction for a good or service, or marketing the good/service, how would an RSS be useful?

Or does anyone know e-commerce sites that have RSS feeds?

I know very little about web design and volunteered to help my school put profiles of teachers on the website. I figured I would use a database along with a program to create this webpage but was wondering which ones to use. Also, I’m graduating soon and will be handing the site off to a teacher for future use so ease of maintaining the database and website is a big factor. Thanks for your help!!

Just got a Blogger account, it works good, but how do I find different users blogs I like with search. I remember there is a way, but I am not seeing it now. Thanks for your help.
