I’m just starting to do some freelance web-design , but in all honesty I’m really estimating anything, especially how long something’s going to take. I’m looking for a good objective process for coming up with a quote for a job.

Any advice on this would be very helpful.

My job recently installed a firewall that blocks facebook and youtube, how do I unblock it without setting off any red flags.

The company I worked for could not survive the current economic crisis … I am without work and it is not easy to find a job. Is there any way I can earn a steady legit income online. Maybe something like blogging or affiliate marketing perhaps…..?

I am starting a company to build a Web 2.0 application similar to a Discussion Board or Forums. I need help to make sure that the software design is scalable. I have a few programmers in India that can help do the actual coding, but need help to guide them with the design.

I created an account for paid blogs for me to earn income since I don’t have a job right now. I also want to know how can I receive payment for my blogs and also how can I ask for the payment of my blogs. Most of all, how will I know if I already earn money for my blogs?

I’m planning on attending a job fair at my college to look for Web design interships. I want to bring a portfolio along with my resume but I don’t want to lug my laptop around. What should I do? Should I make an online portfolio for this occassion and supply them a link or print out screen shots/pictures of the work I’ve done on quality photo paper and arrange a portfolio that way?

I’m buying a laptop but I need a fast internet for job communication. I know broadband is supposed to be fast, but is a 56k modem fast too? I have a 56k modem in this pc I use at home on dial up, but I when I connect it says 19.2kbps, it never gets higher. If a laptop comes with a 56k modem does that mean It will be double time than dial up at home?
