I have been doing websites as a hobby and want to get a little more pro an pick a CMS and e-commerce package to get really good with. Does anyonw know a good pair to use? Or does the cart handle CMS? I am looking mostly for the best usability for my end users and feature rich as well. If you answer will you give a small bit as to why you recommend what you do?

I’m planning to create an e-commerce site using x-cart and I’m wondering if there are any requirements for how it is hosted…

Will I need a dedicated server? Or will a shared server be just as good? I know I’ll need an SSL certificate but again – shared or dedicated? Any info you can give me would be great.

I am interested in coding a e-commerce cart for my site. What is the best language to use for this task. I don’t want it to become outdated so I wan’t to learn the best language right off the bat. Please just tell me what languages are involved.
