Okay after being screwed by a "web designer" that contacted me on Craigslist, i am now back at step 1. I already have a domain name, what is the easiest, best site to design my own e-comm site with?
i need a shopping cart and paypal to pay

I have a little computer experience but I am willing to learn more.
I would like to know where I could get all the programs (preferably free at this stage) to design & publish my own e-commerce website that allows me to sell online with credit cards, paypal, etc

i would like to build a e commerce web site based on ready templates, such as a shopping cart ETC, but then i should have full control over it so i can add/remove features vie visual basic, does anyone know what kind I need & where I can get these templates?

I have a small company looking to take a php site to a different host. Our current host is not cheap and not expensive and is down far too much to be suitable for running an online store. The problem is that all hosting companies that I see all guarantee 99.6% uptime, but when I try to research them online, there is very little information and I know that what they say cant be true because our current host says the same thing. Currently I’m looking towards HostMonster, Hostway, StartLogic, Yahoo for e-commerce, AT&T but I would appreciate some insight as I feel I may just be changing one bad host for another. Answers and advice welcome!

I an very new to the Joomla! Game. After much research, I have discovered that Joomla! just may be the best option for what I want to accomplish as for my site.

However, there was one thing that was missing…maybe, Direct Marketing Capability.

I am looking for an extension that would allow for upsells as well as affiliate/ppc tracking. I want to be able to pay those who are driving traffic & Sales to my site (once it’s up) for assisting me.

I also want to be able to upsell someone to the next product after they have bought one.

Is there a component out there that will do it.

I’m CEO of Zenitum, Inc, a small startup company in Seoul, Korea. We launched a web 2.0 service web site called Envible.com (http://www.envible.com) few weeks ago. Primary focus on the site is "infomal learning." In Envible, people can meet ohters over the world and engage in conversion sessions then learn things.
We took casual conversion based informal learning metaphor to the site. The site allows people to share knowledge pakaged in multimedia files (i.e. videos, audios, documents, etc). Also, it has a similar features like here, answers,yahoo.com, for posting specific questions. Moreover, people can meet on our free flash based web conference so that they can teach & learn. By allowing saving the web conference sessions, other people with same interests can learn by re-palying it later. My intetion was to create upward sprial effect which people create more knwoledge based on others’ knowledge.
What would be the best way to market this baby to the world? Plz give me some idea!
