Security Threats for the E-Commerce?

I was wondering about the different types of security threats around the internet, e.g. Virus’ and fraud, and how you would stop them getting into your computer.

1.XSS and CSRF attacks to hijack login sessions or reveal data to another site.

2.Social Engineering through emails to get you to install malicious software or login to fake login pages for say a bank, online casino, or something else.

3.Software vulnerabilities that are remotely executable allow arbitrary code to be ran on your machine. Depending on the privileges of the vulnerable process this can have different impacts. Use Data Execution Prevention on all processes under windows to help prevent this.

    4.Social Engineering in general

5.Using public data in password recovery questions on websites.

6.Poor AV when installing software. It needs to be able to detect packers and have decent heuristics. Avira, Kaspersky, and Dr.Web do it the best.

7.No rootkit protection. The ones that come with an AV are poor. GMER, IceSword, and RKU are the best.

    8. Poor Database filtering. SQL is the most common database query language. Sql injection allows an attacker to retrive and inject data from/to the database of the website.

First thing is never open an email from anyone you don’t know. NEVER. and even if you do know them be aware of their address sometimes hackers will use their address but something will be slightly different about it, so be cautious.
ALWAYS use a SECURITY package such as Norton, Mcaffee, Netgear, something of that sort. If you think you can get away without one you are dead wrong. YOU CAN’T. You also must run scans, do live updates and maintain your computer at all times. Defrag your computer to run properly, use yahoo’s anti spyware and use it frequently. Most people get a computer and just use it and think that is all they have to do but this is not true. You have to maintain it to run good and keep the bad guys out. And watch where you go on your computer there are tons of places you can get viruses, like downloading music where file sharing is going on, for example, napster, limewire, and frostwire, those are all filesharing and you will sooner or later get a virus that WILL CRASH YOUR COMPUTER.

ZeroBank.com encrypts your outbound transmissions and shields your ip address the free service is through the Tor system and is slow and only shields the ip address the subscription service encrypts data and shields your ip address then is routed through their high speed servers they also make the Xmachine a totaly encrypted computer/encrypted modems and routers…another good security program is Sandboxie.com you will surf in a virual box even if you get hit by a attacker it will not enter your system you will still need a antivirus/antispyware for when you download and save it to your machine
