On an e-commerce website, how does one accept e-checks, and bank transfers?
I am starting a large e-commerce website, and, besides for credit cards, I want to allow users to pay by e-checks and bank transfers. How do companies like paypal and gambling websites do this? Even a website with relevant information will be a big help.

Paypal doesn’t offer exactly this.
You can perform bank transfers via an e-Wallet. To utilize this your merchant account would have to be located offshore (like most gambling websites). Typically this would not be an ideal solution for an e-commerce website.
E-checks and ach is a standard service that can be easily setup with your merchant account processor. To the customer, it works very similar to the way credit cards are processed, only the charges are coming out of their bank account.
You can setup an e-wallets, e-check service, ach, and credit card processing from the company I represent, Ballistic Merchant Services, by clicking on the link below.
I’d go through paypal. Safer.
There are several options available for processing e-checks and bank transfers. Depending on what is most important to you. If you want to accept a check autimatically with a 48hr deposit turn around, there is risk involved. The check could bounce. When chosing the right solution make sure they offer verification and check guarantee options.
