Do I need to pay setup fees when changing ISP?
Hey everyone. I’m planning on changing my ISP. I have broadband at the moment and I have a modem. The plan I want to get on charges setup fees. If I already have a modem, do I need to pay this?
How do you know if your ISP is blocking certain websites?
Since my ISP ventured into the voip over cable business, my quality of service has seriously degraded, with frequent disconnects and a lot of page not found or server unavailable error messages. I would chalk it up entirely to an overextended network due to the rapid expansion, but some sites routinely are difficult to access, including major voip competitors’ sites.
Yes, I have a firewall, but the programs that need to access the internet are all on my exceptions list.
My ISP is Charter :-(
What can I do to bypass ISP torrent traffic sniffers. They really downloads when they realize its peer to peer?
What softwares should I get to encrypt or just change the protocol completely so its not detected by ISP sniffers. Also which torrent client is the best when you have such ISPs?
I get internet from my isp via wifi and I want to configure the router to make bittorrent run faster. How?
I have tried typing the getaway you find when you run cmd. My browser tells me error. I want to access this router but I am not sure my isp allows it. I have done research and found out I have to change router port settings to make downloads via torrents faster. The problem is where is my router and how do I access it.
How do I make my ISP unable to detect that multiple people are using one router?
I am living with 3 other people in an apartment, the only ISP we can get only gives you one crappy plan, and it is a lot to pay for it every month, it would be easier if we’re all sharing one line. But the ISP seems to have a way to detect if there are multiple people on the router at once, and kicks the extra people off the internet. What can I do to make my ISP unable to detect when there are multiple people on the same router? I have heard something about cloning the IP address from a friend who lives in the neighborhood, but he’s not sure how it works either. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
What is the best way to humiliate my isp?
My ISP is severely throttling FTP, p2p, msn transfers, infact anything that involves transferring files (including email).
Whats the best way to publically humiliate them to force them to change their policy?
How does an ISP Connect you to the internet?
I recently took a course on Networking and I’m wondering I thoroughly understand most of what happens between the ISP and my Computer. What I don’t understand is what the ISP does on the other end. That is to say, what, specifically, does the ISP do that grants you access to the interent. Moreover, if one had the financial means, how would one go about starting an ISP?
While these questions are only for the sake of knowledge, please treat them with respect. Don’t answer unless you have something of value.
What do you do when you are behind an inconfigurable router and the ISP has blocked most ports?
I use public wifi to connect. Thus the router is at the access point and belongs to ISP. The ISP does not allow access to router.
All the ports I try on bitcomet and bittorrent seem to be blocked. I run the speed test and each and every port is blocked.
Since I cannot apply port forwarding or switch to another ISP what can I do to bypass this blockade?
How to test if ISP is capping your downloads?
Anyway to see if my ISP (comcast) is capping my downloads? I upgraded to the 50/5 speeds a few months ago, last month the speeds to seem have dropped. Gaming pings have risen and torrent speeds are crap.
How can i report someone to there ISP provider i have there ISP number?
