Facebook is blocked on my computer, and so are proxy sites. Is there any other way to unblock/get onto facebook?

I want to set up a Facebook group for the school to keep parents informed. I am a Facebook user myself and I like the way the information gets distributed, and the way members can interact. Are there any down sides? If your K-5 elementary has a Facebook, will you post the link so I can see how you are using it?

Every once in a while I discover a typo or other error in my Facebook status update and delete it from my wall after rewriting it correctly. My question is this: when I delete a Facebook status update from my wall, is it still visible to others? It would be a little embarrassing if my friends could see the mistakes on my wall or on theirs.
