I’m using a PayPal Business Account (not Pro) for users to purchase items using their debt card, credit card or PayPal account. Do I need a secure address https to ensure these transactions are safe? I’d rather not if I don’t have to but I also want users to feel secure…

The design and html is something I can handle pretty easily but the e-commerce part is not something I’m very familiar with.

How would you do this/is it easy to develop and what would you charge for something like this? The shopping experience seems to be completely self-contained and integrated into the design of the site.

I’m from Argentina (sorry for my english, im doing my best) and I have a question regarding webpages/e-commerce/credit card payments.

I have an idea I want to develop, and it is a very massive and cheap product. So, let’s assume I want to sell something at 1USD.

My question is: Is it possible? And how?

If my page accepts credit card payment, how much will be the fee for each transaction cost? For example, if credit card fee is 40cents (fixed) + xx% of total amount (variable), then I will be paying more than 40% of my revenues to the credit card.

Something with expertise, could please explain me if there is a "minimum" amount, below it doesn’t make any sense to use credit card?

I’m building a site to sell one product. The site is basic HTML as I’m a designer with some coding skills. However I’m new to server side scripting, so I need to either outsource production of an e-commerce section or use a web service (http://www.volusion.com).

I have two questions:

1) Is it worth paying for a freelance developer to produce an ecommerce section for my site (is it very difficult, or something some developers will have pre-existing that they can repurpose?) Also will I have to pay anyone costs for procession transactions? (I have always avoided ecommerce in the past because I don’t know much about it)

2) Is it worth using a company like http://www.volusion.com? Has anyone used another e-commerce providers before – any recommendations?

3) Any advice from any experienced e-tailers

I’m looking to download a free e-commerce template related to welding or heavy machinery. Then I want to configure it so my customers can buy my products but the problem is that i’m situated in central america (honduras) and for that i would have to open a bank account in the USA, which i would have to go to open the account. So I really have no clue how I can do so everything works out smoothly without delaying payment processes and that my customers have the verisign security available aswell . any ideas?
To clarify i don’t want to sell none of my products to the US. I only want to sell them in Honduras. Do i still need to create a us bank account to manage the e-commerce website?
