Best way to learn more about web design?

I am a graphic designer by job title and I have built a few webpages. I want to learn a lot more about web design because that seems to be where most of the money is these days. Does anybody have any tips on how I can learn more about web design on my own or places I can go to learn more formal skills in all the different languages?
thx for the tip, I know there are two sides, I just want to get into web design in some capacity cause I can make more money and probably get a better job.

Learn programming before you start learning languages to do it in. (Programming itself is taught in English, not in a computer language.) Wirth’s "Algorithms" is probably the best way to learn programming (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0130224189/ref=pd_bbs_sr_olp_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212765521&sr=8-1 ). Once you’ve done that, there are Javascript and php tutorials all over the web.

Be aware, though – right-brained people are best at design (art), left-brained people are best at development (programming) – it’s a VERY rare individual who’s good at both. Which is why the best sites are created by teams.

start creating templates and stop reading tutorials..

    Reading alone doesnt fetch anything
